Idris Elba Breaks The 'Flying Mile' UK Land Speed Record In A £175k Bentley

Hollywood star Idris Elba has broken driving record after travelling at 180.361mph over a measured mile to break an 88-year-old driving record previously set by Sir Malcolm Campbell on Pendine Sands in Wales In 1927.

Elba, 42, had to cover a one-mile distance beating an average speed of 174.8mph in a £175,000 Bentley Continental GT to break the long-standing record. The record was independently verified by the UK Timing Association. See more photos after the cut...

Australian Teenage Boy Arrested Over Alleged Terror Plot

 

Australian police have arrested a teenager in a counter-terror raid in Melbourne. Australian Federal Police (AFP) alleged the teenager arrested was “undertaking preparations for planning a terrorist act in Australia.” Prime Minister Tony Abbott said a bomb plot was in a “reasonably advanced state of preparation and also saying that there’s been at least one arrest.

The police has refused  to confirmed reports that an attack was planned for Melbourne on Sunday, which is Mother’s Day in Australia, saying they could not yet say when or where the alleged act would occur. The teenager is expected to face court on Monday.

Military Recovers Video Recordings Of Boko Haram

The Nigeria military have  recovered video recordings of the heinous acts perpetrated by the Boko Haram insurgents. The Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade confirmed that the videos recovered from the sect were being analysed by the military experts. He said:

“It is true that troops have captured some video recordings of the terrorists but I would not want to say anything on that for now.” 

Investigation revealed that the videos have scenes of trials, stoning of condemned people to death, amputations, beheading of victims with knives, and summary execution through shooting.

A 19-year-old woman has been caught by the Civil Guard police after she hide a 8-year-old Ivorian boy in a bag to be smuggled across the border into Spanish territory in northern Africa. According to reports the woman took the bag through a pedestrian crossing from Morocco into the small Spanish-governed territory of Ceuta. Spokesman for the Civil Guard police force said.
